Privacy for ActivBuds

Operational retention is still being reviewed. How the restricted ActivBuds account test and this support site handle information.

Scope and access

This notice describes the restricted ActivBuds phone-account TestFlight rehearsal and these support pages. It is for adults 18+. The guest tour is local and does not create a server account. Account access requires an operator-approved number and an SMS code; it is not open sign-up.

Account data used in the test

The service handles a mobile number for verification and SMS delivery. Its account store retains a keyed phone digest, product-specific account identity, protected verification and session records, and any profile or unfinished profile draft you save. It uses these records to verify a code, limit requests, keep a signed-in session, and load or change your own product profile.

A saved profile or unfinished setup may include your display name, biography, gender description and preference, adult/safety confirmations, activities or subjects and skill levels, availability, discovery-radius and visibility preferences. StudyBuddys can also save optional study level, learning goal and session-mode preferences.

On iOS and Android, the app keeps a product-specific renewal credential in protected device storage so you can stay signed in. Signing out or confirmed account deletion clears that app’s stored credential. The browser rehearsal keeps credentials in memory instead.

Approved test mobile numbers are also held in private operator configuration to control access, and are passed to the SMS delivery provider. Deleting the app account does not itself remove that configuration entry or provider records.

The current phone-account rehearsal does not provide live matching, member messages, GPS sharing, advertising or payments. Those features should not be inferred from future-looking marketing pages.

Providers and website visits

Sinch sends verification SMS for approved recipients. The hosted API uses AWS infrastructure. Provider delivery records, server request logs and backups can have separate retention from the active account tables; their exact operational settings have not yet been confirmed.

These static support pages do not set tracking cookies or load advertising, analytics, fonts or scripts from third parties. The public marketing website may save a selected language code in your browser. Where a public contact form prepares an email draft, you review and send it through your email app; the website does not send it automatically.

Deletion and remaining records

In the signed-in ActivBuds app, use Account settings > Delete account > confirm. On confirmed success the active store removes this product account, saved profile, unfinished setup, and access and refresh sessions. Pending verification issued for this product before deletion is invalidated. SMS request and attempt history remains to enforce shared limits; the other product’s account stays separate. A network failure means the outcome is unconfirmed; verify it before relying on deletion.

Operator review is still needed for provider records, request logs, backups, and any records created under earlier account behaviour. No fixed retention deadline or complete erasure from those systems is promised here. Contact us for a specific data or deletion enquiry.
